Monthly
Meetings Information, Education and Entertainment! The McCabe Chapter meets monthly on the FIRST WEDNESDAY of each month, from September through May, at the Hartley Nature Center in Woodland. General membership meetings (which are open to the public) begin at 7:30 p.m. Board of Directors meetings begin at 6:00 p.m. the same evening, and are open to IWLA members. In the past year we've held informative public forums on the wise use movement, forest management, the proposal to list the lynx under the Endangered Species Act, the health of Lake Superior's fisheries, the BWCAW blowdown, and much more. We also have had evenings of pure entertainment, such as a slide show on preparing yourself to fly fish anywhere in North America, and on the pictographs (rock art) of the Boundary Waters and Quetico. Please come and join us! Meeting announcements, with the featured speakers/topic, are in our monthly newsletter, and also can be found a week in advance in the Outdoor Notes in the Duluth News Tribune. The Chapter also hosts an annual picnic in June. This is a great chance to meet like minded conservationists in a pleasant and fun environment. We'll post the date here in the near future. We hope to see you soon!
